This classic Jimmy Rodgers song probably needs a little bit of explanation for some of you: a mule skinner is NOT a person who skins mules, ok? It is slang for a muleteer, or mule driver and has nothing to do with skinning. Now doesn't that make this song more enjoyable? These sweethearts are good. Driven through a little west Texas town of Muleshoe, close to the NM border. Back in the day, they had more mules, wagons than locals/settlers. Keep it up Larry.
