Curious about the process of publishing open access books? Join us for a dynamic discussion including panelists from the humanities and social sciences. Each panelist will discuss experiences publishing and supporting open access books. This panel will be moderated by Paul Brookes, Professor of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, University of Rochester Medical Center, proposer of an Open Access Policy for the University of Rochester, with opening remarks from Mary Ann Mavrinac, Vice Provost & Andrew H. and Janet Dayton Neilly Dean, University of Rochester Libraries.

Panelists:

Kimberly D. Hoffman, Director of Learning Initiatives at River Campus Libraries, University of Rochester. Author and editor of the OA book, Open Pedagogy Approaches: Faculty, Library, and Student Collaborations (Milne Publishing, 2020).

Roger Moseley, Associate Professor of Music at Cornell University. Moseley is the author of the open access book, Keys to Play: Music as a Ludic Medium from Apollo to Nintendo (Univ. of California, 2016).

Peter Potter, Publishing Director at Virginia Tech University Libraries; Spokesperson & Advocate for Toward an Open Monograph Ecosystem (TOME), a joint initiative among the Association of American Universities (AAU), Association of Research Libraries (ARL), and the Association of University Presses (AUP).

Katrina Smith Korfmacher, Community Engagement Core (CEC) Director and Professor of Environmental Medicine, University of Rochester is the author of the open access book, Bridging Silos: Collaborating for Environmental Health and Justice in Urban Communities (MIT Press, 2019).
