Plain n simple this man let his very soul speak through the double bass

Mysterious, semi-dark, and has this Spacey type feel like floating in the empty void letting the DB's voice sing for you with NO thought put into it....letting it come naturally

This man understands jazz. Less is more.

Rufus lets his bass play music. He doesn't try to impress anyone with how many notes are on his bass and doesn't try to play as though he was being paid by how many notes he can play.

This man taught me more about jazz than any music teacher I’ve ever had.

It sounded like lauras theme from twin peaks at first. Also I absolutely love that quote, "we as jazz musicians end up playing a zillion notes, without any thought"

Imagine a giant playing a double bass as a violin

For me this sounded like bloodborne or dark souls, instead of jazz lmao

I wish I could love Jazz music. I like it but I grew up on Funk and R&B. The upright bass does not fit in that genre.
