Air Vent Calibration - Holden VE & Pontiac G8 **Read Pinned Comment - Do at your own risk**

Hi Everyone!
Here is a neat little trick to perform an Air Vent Calibration on your Holden VE or Pontiac G8. This is useful if you HVAC unit ever goes a bit funny and does not direct air to the desired location. This trick re calibrates all of the vent doors and should hopefully sort it out! if not..you might be off to the dealer..

Warning! If 1 or more of your Actuators are indeed faulty then this little trick will default the system to just send air through your front demister with no fix except getting it resolved by your Mechanic. Tried it myself and now my Aircon is rooted and there is a 2-3 month wait on Actuators from Holden currently to get these parts! Seems to be a 50% success rate from the comments I've seen. Wished I'd never tried the Relearn. 😭

Mechanically challenged 59F, holy moley tried this after being told I would need to take to auto electrician to fix vents and it actually worked!! Cheers for that 👍

I just did this on my Cruze, which had a suspected heater door fault.. (dash out job) and the aircon is now working beautifully!
Will monitor and see, fingers crossed 🤞

Awesome. Thanks mate. My vents were blowing to the right place but It wasn’t very cold. When I turned the ac off it was quite warm so I thought it might be hot air leaking past the vent. This trick fixed it.

Yep did this after watching the vid, as my Ute was doing that I think I had confused it when I was learning how to use the climate control. But this sorted it. Thanks man.

We have done this and it works for a period of time before we need to reset again. We have replaced the air compressor aircon blows cold, could it be a computer issue or a faulty acctuator ?

That's cool. When I did my oil change I reset my oil to 99 percent like you showed in other video. Very helpful stuff my man

This method worked for me, but it seems to resort back to not working, so I repeat this method which fixes it again and then it repeats!

I'm stuck in a loop! How do I fix it for good?

thanks for that, will it work for the VZ? I'm having the same problem, if I accelerate it switches to the windscreen and doesn't come back to the face vents until I back off.
