These PSN account requirements for PC ports are probably some executive's mandate to show "growth" in PSN player counts so they can put it on a slideshow and brag about it to get his bonus. Larger game sales worldwide in countries that don't have PSN be damed!

The thing about the GTA V cheating debacle is, the anti-cheat wasn't even all that effective. It took approximately 6 hours for a bypass of the anti-cheat to be uploaded and gain widespread use, so the addition of anti-cheat was almost pointless, and GTA V for PC is back to the hellscape it was before the update.

The UK Gov't Defence Minister announcing their intent to recruit from the ranks of gamers et al is surprising. Every gamer/geek/nerd military student I've taught over the last 15+ years will tell you that being a gamer/geek/nerd is career limiting within all three services. Almost every one of my students has either left the military due to frustration or have immediately moved on from techy/gaming/simulation roles because they can't get promoted in those roles.
