Travel hack for road trip trash:
Pack a trash bag in a cereal container.
The trick is that the lid needs to be the pop up lid so you can stuff trash in there while in the car.

I use a 5 gallon bucket from Home Depot in my truck 🛻. 😅

since I'm a dog walker and I drive a lot . I use one of those freezer silver bags for my trash. They snap close.

So on a smaller level, I've done this with the containers that hold dishwasher pods. Same idea with a snapping top. You would have to empty them more, I think I bought a roll of diaper genie bags for it.

Good one! We just take any plastic bag, use a hair tie. And empty it at a fuel station (saving the hair tie). But yours is nicer.

My tip for road trip: I collect those sickness bags in the plane and I put them in my car: open, they fit in the door pockets or in this underarm pocket in the middle. And since they are coated inside, they are ok with trash that could be a bit runny.

I have never seen one that big ...Where did you get it?

I don't have any cereal containers like that. my parents had that car wastebasket that had two sandbag flaps so it sat on the transmission hump. more recently, we have always put trash in the most recent fast food bag and made a point of throwing the bag away at the next rest stop. - or non messy trash gets tossed into the back seat footwell, where the puppies make it messy.
