26 mil to bring it up to date or spend 100 mil or more to build a new one. Just like a car cost less to repair then buy new. But it's only taxpayer dollars.

The Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) has a total of 933 inmates (located in three areas - the FCI, Federal Detention Center (FDC) and their Federal Prison Camp (FPC). The camp has only 72 inmates and is the area that will be "deactivated." Although the FCI most likely will be able to absorb the displaced staff from the camp, if needed --- staff may relocate to the Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) in Florence, Colorado. The FCC has four institutions --- one being the notorious "Supermax" (AKA: Alcatraz of the Rockies).
