I’ve had 4 duramax’s but I’ve been hard core looking at getting a 22 F-250/350 platinum solely for the panoramic sunroof, 12.5 inch infotainment center and the massage seats, but I love the way that Chevy’s HC and GMC’s Denali look and I love the digital rear view mirror but now that they’ve done the awesome dash and radio I just need them to add a full glass roof and massage seats. 😭
I don’t wanna buy a platinum but I just want a comfortable daily driver and work truck.

Good grief. My Chevy has way more power than I need, and I tow 15k. I can’t imagine swallowing another, $80k truck just to “beat” another brand. And if needed more, I’d be nearing cdl territory anyhow, so all the ¾ tons are now pretty much maxed for “civilian” use.

Great update for 2024, Now if GMC would put a wider front end on the 3500 dually for better and tighter steering just like the Ford F-450 it would take more of the market .

Chevy said yesterday 6.6 duramax engine is 470 h.p torque 975

Chevy just released the updated/Refreshed 2024 Silverado HD. The 6.6L gas now is paired to the 10 speed transmission. The 6.6L Duramax remains essentially the same, but with slightly more power and torque. It's now rated at 470hp and 975pft, as opposed to its orginal 445hp and 910pft. So the number changes weren't as high as originally rumored, however has been improved none the less. Along with that, other slight improvements were made to the powertrain.

Additionally, as expected a new front end design and interior are also present. A new ZR2 trim is also expected to come later on too. Overall, Chevy in my opinion did a great job with the Refreshed HDs. Now waiting for GMC to reveal their new version of the Sierra HD!

Great analysis on the refresh and the comparison/competition with Ford and Ram. I'm really looking forward to seeing what the ZR2/AT4X versions of the GM HD trucks look like from a feature and specs perspective. If they are truly just scaled up from the 1/2 ton versions and retain all the "goodies" like the multimatic shocks (or similar) and front/rear lockers etc while retaining a respectable tow rating that's useful for the vast majority of RV type things out there (say, 15k-ish for the gas version which would match up with the Ford Tremor)....then I'm a buyer when the time comes for sure.

It's about time, far as the AT4 packages I don't really care about that personally. Horsepower and torque is what I am after, even though there is a weight limit on what you can tow it would hopefully be an easier tow.

I’ve been waiting patiently for the 2500 refresh. I let my wife trade my gmc 2500 in for her new 2020 gmc1500 thinking I was gonna wait couple years for 2500 refresh 🤪. I’m ordering mine asap when they come out. But I’m interested to hear about the possibility that the 6.6 gas will have more horse power. That’s the first I’ve heard of that. Also you didn’t say anything about transmission. I’ve heard also the gas will get a 10 speed. The disappointing part is that I want a regular cab long box but can only get SLE packages. Would be nice to have special higher packages for regular cab. Ram sure does. Thanks for sharing info 👍

Sad abt the motor... Not as much as thought..450/950 and gas is staying the same from what I've read on the Silverado HD 401/460

Well the numbers have come out. The numbers aren’t close to 500hp. I think they went up 10hp total and added about 50pft. It looks like the technology has increased on the GM’s which is nice. Also a decent looking interior.
