WHO 'concerned’ on Covid situation in China, calls restrictions by countries ‘understandable’ | WION

As more and more countries are imposing restrictions on travellers from China amid the recent surge in cases in the country, Beijing’s state media, called these mandates “discriminatory”. However, the World Health Organization (WHO) chief, on Thursday, called the measures “understandable” given the lack of information from China.

We have not enough information in China, what is happening but since those young ppl doing the huge protests ended up having this major pandamic and it can be fatal but we dont know since lack the information so it is important to restrict Chinese

Countries need to protect their own citizens from possible resurgence of covid. Tourism revenue is not that important. We were able to survive in the past 3 years without tourists visiting our country.

Restricting Chinese only slightly delay the spread of the new variant (if it exists). You need the whole world restrict Chinese, not a few countries. Otherwise, you get Chinese ppl visiting xyz, and the people live in xyz comes to your country? Restricting is a desperate measure, not a preventable measure.

Although the situation may be a bit difficult now, I hope the world will not panic like a few years back. Regardless, I am not planning on having the same feeling as back then. We'll get through it. Best health wishes and hope for a fast recovery for those ill. Everyone be careful and responsible, without the authorities having to "scold" anybody or impose severe restrictions, please. Also, I don't know why, but I don't really feel that much of a negative energy as I did few years back. Either I am not estimating right or this will pass relatively faster / quieter.
