Robert wrote such beautiful poetry, and Jerry put such strong music behind it. Once the rest of the band heard, understood, and created their own space within the tune, there was an incredible basis for the inprovisational conversation they had on stage(and with the audience). I, after 50 years, still marvel at what they created.
