Force Urbania | Premium van tested | evo India

India’s leading van manufacturer moves upmarket with the Force Urbania premium van. Based on an all-new monocoque platform and available in three wheelbases, we tested the medium wheelbase 14-seater version. Power comes from the venerable 2.6-litre common-rail diesel engine putting out 113bhp and 350Nm. Top speed is limited to 80kmph and 0-60kmph takes 17.5 seconds.
How easy is it to drive this van? And is it suitable for passenger car owners? Editor Sirish Chandran gets behind the wheel to find out.

Would you take the extended family on a road trip with the Force Urbania?

This van design is highly suitable for motorhomes 🤗

Yes, definitely do more on these. Maybe even an episode on camper vans and overlanding etc!

Thanks Sirish for covering Urbania. I definitely see it making inroads into Ambulance market, Premium caravans or premium interior setup with sofa type seating arrangement(like we saw in the Volvo bus in Autoexpo) which can be used for corporate executive travel. Politicians also will be interested in converting this as a campaign/caravan. This certainly is a leap up in the van/traveler market and might make players like TATA(has winger but not a match to Urabania yet)/Mahindra coming with their own versions.

That's a handsome van. I just wish there would be an automatic version. The way Sirish has been turning the van left to right and the steering self-centering shows how well handling it is.

I'm highly disappointed about the lack of airbags in the long wheelbase variant, but I otherwise love this van! It definitely is a world-class product, and I hope it'll be available for private usage as well, with the 80 km/h governor removed, of course.

More such reviews please, Evo!

Sirish could review a shopping cart and I'd still watch it with popcorn.

Given the surge in interest in overlanding/ campervan in India, a vehicle like Urbania makes so much sense. It also looks fabulous for a van, very Mercedes Sprinter like, not surprising. I remember the Traveler (at least the earlier ones) having a cut out for a sliding door on the left side, though I haven't seen one with a sliding door yet. The Urbania also, in photos and videos, seems to have a much higher quality in fit/finish, dashboard and panels compared to the Gurkha on sale. Far less panel gaps too. A commercial van, people mover having better interiors than a what is supposed to be a lifestyle vehicle is weird tbh.
Talking about the Gurkha, I kept seeing the test mule over and over again in the video, any chance you'll got to sample it? A yes or no would suffice 😁

Coming back to the Urbania, I think you missed the reversing camera above the rear doors and also flat folding side doors. Also, stressing on the above point about the surge in love for campervans in India, I would love to see more of such vehicles on the channel. Not just vans, may be an episode on overlanding (4x4s) and some ideas/suggestions? Asking too much you think? 😬😬😬

Nice to see Force upping the ante. Excellent video team evo as usual.

Probably best fit car to make it into a caravan mod, by removing all chairs and set up small kitchen and beds inside. This would start RV trend if factory can offer such fitments.

Yes we need more of these. Even trucks for that matter. Not just passenger cars, it's about time we also had better utility vehicles in India. Sooner or later people opting for the cheaper vehicles will move on to the better ones!

This is the best vehicle for caravan making. Hope to see some company making caravans out of these soon.

Nice review! Had a few questions: commercial license to drive is a must? White board possible? Thanks

with few lakhs of mods this could be made as alternate to toyota vellfire, like 6 captain seats sun blinds better suspension and remove the speed lock
