Dicky thank you for constantly trying to bring attention to the climate crisis. My family owns property in San Clemente and we are first hand SEEING and experiencing the negative impact of sea levels rising. They constantly need to drop hundreds of giant boulders from the train tracks onto the sand just to temporarily prevent the water from doing even MORE damage to the tracks, which haven't ever been so exposed until now. Where the sand used to expand all the way down the beach and you were able to walk down it, that is no longer the case because of the rise. Soon there won't be any beach left and I don't think people know how serious it is or how much of a problem it is without seeing it with their own eyes. THIS IS A CRISIS and we are so screwed as a species if we keep ignoring these issues! It's only getting worse and there is not enough we are doing as a whole to prevent this disaster.

I think one of the first steps (along with taxing carbon production) is building local food security. Right now most people get their food from all over the world, and we've seen how fragile supply lines can be. We should be planting staple food trees like chestnuts (in temperate zones) in our communities to feed people, create habitat and sequester carbon.
