The movie has heart, personified by Audrey, she was "real" like the Velveteen Rabbit story I studied in group therapy. The characters who needed her as an anchor of meaning of sorts stood by her after the others drifted away. I thought it was sweet. The other characters had insecurities behind their trappings, too. I think of this movie often, it's a favorite. The dialogue is a blast!

I just adored this movie when it first came out. And to think, I only picked the VHS box off the counter because it show a photo of Sally Fowler about to remove her brassiere during a game of strip poker.

Such a limited audience for this film since most of the USA is a "fly-over" for the people depicted. For the rest of us lucky Americans, we can only laugh at their idiocy. So glad I'm in a "fly-over" state. As the police in London used to say, "Nothing to see here. Move along".

Ultimately, I hated this movie. All of the characters suck, they all drone on incessantly about meaningless concepts and none of them were very likable. But I was also so transfixed by it. It's an odd feeling
