I love how he's so detailed about the murder scenes, yet so vague and hesitant about the characters and their motivations... not only was Hitchcock the Master of Suspense, he also knew how to bait the audience with curiosity.

It's funny out of context but the way he says it sends a chill down your spine. He is giving you an idea that something infamous happened there...

I like how the music switches back and forth from charming to horror. It builds up uneasy tension. Clever.

This trailer is PERFECT. It shows so much, but nothing at all! It alludes to points in the movie that hitchcock is obviously disturbed by, so he doesn't go into detail and skips over it. This makes us really want to know what he was talking about. Or when he looked in the closet and made a shocked and disturbed face, but didn't describe or show us what was inside. When he tells us about the son's room, we really want to know what's in there, but he glosses over it. This trailer is a masterpiece.

Holy cow, can you imagine sitting in a theater in 1960, waiting for some innocuous film, and then see this? Hitchcock was a genius, it's almost hard to imagine movies and horror films prior to Psycho. Hard to imagine a more influential film.
