While on deployment in Iraq in 2004 some of my fellow soldiers and I participated in a gospel concert and sang this song. We were practicing one night and we heard some explosions and sirens and if I recall correctly were told to take cover in place and wait for the all clear before we went back to where we were staying. Our director suggested we keep singing and focus on God. By time we got the all the clear and the power came back, no one had dry eyes, we all felt safe and a peace that's hard to explain and it left me with a memory about the Lord that I will never forget. My momma used to sing this song when she was overwhelmed. She was a single mother in the Army back in the 90's and the church we went to used to sing this song. Brings tears to my eyes because every time I hear it I feel thankful and blessed because of what God has brought my family through and we've been through a lot.
