Here’s the issue. For those folks that care about the # of likes they get to the point they get depressed, they’ll see the option to disable it as admitting defeat. It’ll be them admitting to their followers that they don’t get enough likes and it bothers them. So these people will never turn off like counts for fear of being seen as unpopular. To them, turning off the like count will be equal to them having 0 likes
