The back cover isn't on out-of-the-box so you can pop the SIM (and battery) in before snapping the back cover on. This was common for mobile phones before sim trays became popular.

I brought this phone as a back-up phone. Wish I hadn't now! Takes so long to load apps, camera shutter speed is slower than a sloth and it gets warm really quick. Then again..you get what you pay for. Just as well that this isn't my main everyday phone!

Hey arun, this phone is the bane of my life! I work in a phone shop, this phone is sooo bad 80% of customers ask to return it 😂 majority of the time, if a customer asks for this phone I tell them we are out of stock!!

My mom uses the 5 inch one, I didn't know it was that cheap since she got it through a carrier but it works perfect for her use (WhatsApp, reading news and watching videos)

For people living in the UK. There is a phone cheaper than this you can buy legally and those are infinitely better than these. The problem with these phones is not the phones themselves but the software installed on them. I am surprised you didn't give a mention about the Alcatel App store and it's habite of installing malicious software on the phone. Working in a phone shop, I get these back a lot and they are the bane of my life. The Verve Connect IMO Q2 phones are a better choice to go with.

Honestly with things like smartphones I would never pay less than $200. Having a smooth experience for something I use everyday is important. Thankfully, I’m rocking a s8 which does pretty well overall and my iPhone 8+.

An older flagship is easy better than a low end or even mid range device. Just like you said, the galaxy note 3 is probably the best bang for buck for $100. Less bezels than the iPhone 8+, same resolution, AMOLED, 4k video and a decent snapper even today!
