Ladies and gentlemen, we’ve just witnessed a historic moment in the women’s 100-meter final at the 2024 Paris Olympics. In the history of the women’s 100 meters, two nations have always stood out as dominant on the global stage. And these nations are Jamaica and of course the United States. So, dominant they’ve been that at no one point did anyone expect a change of guard! In fact, for the last decade, it was Jamaica which has dominated the Olympics in the women’s 100 meters. And this time around, the entire track community gathered in what was to be a great moment… a celebratory moment, as the United States once again grabs back the women's 100-meter title since Gail Devers in 1996… And the athlete who was hyped to achieve this, and restore the United States to its old glory was none other than world champion Sha’Carri Richardson.
