These kind of titles would not come in search result. I had to directly come to your channel for this.

This set is fantastic. I’ve listened to them for over an week and can confidently praise them in the budget realm. If you like an energetic (but not too energetic) sound signature, the Chu 2 will surely please. I think a lot of people will like this IEM, perhaps not audiophiles, but I definitely don’t think it’s a niche pick.

"the rest of the track just feels like it's sitting behind the vocals" It feels the other way around for me. The tuning on these is right on point for me btw.

I feel like comparing it to the kiwi ears cadenza would have been interesting, considering they have the same kind of tuning

I've been analizing the graphs of the chu 2 vs other budget and non budget iems, and if you lower the chu 2's graphs and then compare it to others, it seems more like the issue it has is that it's a bit recessed in the midrange. My listening impressions kinda confirm this hipotesis, as it doesn't really feel that forward in the vocals to me, it's just that the rest of the frequencies in the "middle-mids" are a bit lower than the rest so it sounds like instruments are in the background, but I've never found it "intense". Adjusting this through eq basically lowers the bass and the treble a bit, making it sound a bit more balanced, but then the budget-level technicalities don't really make it feel any more "detailed" than it is. What I absolutely love though is the form factor and the way the treble sounds balanced. I really like them for longer listening session, just because the shape of the iems fits my ears perfectly, the treble is balanced with the midrange, the bass is not overwhelming, and instruments in the midrange sound relaxed. I've starting using it at my desktop in place of my over ear headphones when I want more isolation, and the exquisite comfort they offer never made me miss the over ears. I think of course you could have something better by spending a bit more, but for what it is it's a very nice set which anyone could enjoy. It has the right amount of fun while not being offensive in any way. I could be used to a more forward tuning in the high-mids (I really like the hd560s apart from some treble spikes) but the general contrast in the mix sounds very satisfying to me. And again, perfect form factor. If it had just a bit more revealing treble it could have been a very strong competitor.

Nice shirt, Timmy. The Chu was my first IEM, so it will be interesting to listen to the second iteration.

With how Timmy is comparing with others in the same price range, I want to remind everyone again that you don't need 5 pairs of $20 iem ("sidegrading") as it's pretty much just a different tuning (just eq it).

If you already have 1 or 2 of them, just save up and go to $50 or above.

Prime example of higher price not being automatically better than a cheaper offering

Excited to receive my set! Should be coming in within a few days now! And if I don't like them, that cable looks very good. Might be a new way to get an (almost) SSR cable for cheap!

Just got mine the other day. Love it as a starter IEM for me and just starting.

Using some great tuning profiles from JetAudio app, I was able to overcome some of the downsides of the Chu II and it now sounds pretty incredible for the price. PS: I was waiting for the Wan'er comparison.

chu2 is pretty much my sound signature, i definitely give the new chu a try once i get tired listening to my IEMs.

I daily drive the Starfield still so these are a nice addition to the family, slightly more bass, forward mids and a little more sparkle in the treble. They give my tracks a clean feeling with a little more fun while the Starfield just play the track well without any notable changes, just a nice all day experience.

Good set to use as a passenger in a car, especially with all the road noises and the radio blasting all the bass in the world in a tiny space...

Thanks for this! Literally the straightforward comparison I've been looking for. Already have the Wan'er and 7hz Zero - and like the 7hz just a *tiny* bit more. The treble doesn't seem to bother me (i thought it would). Just feels cleaner, so i especially love them with busy instrumental type music (math rock, jazz fusion, etc). For when i wanna have a bit more fun, the Wan'er. But i love having both to alternate with. I'm still really considering getting the Hola though just for that more relaxing sound when I'm doing work that requires actual thinking. The Wan'er can sometimes be a little distracting coz it makes me wanna sing along the songs a little too much. 😂 But i know i should probably save up for a more technically-capable pair for more active listening. I can currently get the S12 for $100 😰

Biggest problem with these iems is the condensation buildup on the nozzle and oxidization.. Have to take em out every now and then to clean with a rag or the sound gets really low.
