The Awakening of Spring is Frank Wedekind's tragicomedy of teenage sex written in 1891, and censored in whole or part for more than half a century. Abortion, masturbation, rape, suicide, violence, homosexuality, repression and the dangerous chasm between ideologically imprisoned adults and innocent children on the brink of learning about the world is explored with originality and daring in this revolutionary play.

Directed by Cornell Performing & Media Arts - PMA professor David Feldshuh, this production is the final project for his PMA 3609 class, Making Theatre: Rehearsal and Production Techniques.

#Cornell PMA senior lecturer Carolyn Goelzer co-directs and instructs the cast in the Michael Chekov acting style.

The Awakening of Spring opens on Friday, November 9th, with performances scheduled through November 17th.
