Group of people and pets stay afloat in chest-high flooding

Flooding triggered by Hurricane Helene left a group of neighbors and their pets trying to stay afloat in chest-deep water inside a home in North Carolina.

saw this on tv, the homeowner was such a gracious Guy under these circumstances, letting His neighbors take refuge in His home, made me Sad & proud to seeing everyone coming together, GOD! Bless Them All!🙏🏾❤️

I have been through hurricanes, and situations change faster than you can imagine. Flood waters rise too fast to get out. It never seems like it will get as bad as it does. I pray all these people (and everyone else hit by the storms), stay safe. Also, thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking such good care of your pets. My pets come first before anything else, ( including me), and it touched my heart that you all kept them safe. I am praying for you all. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

They are in shock. Stunned silence. Even the pets know they are blessed to be alive and safe. My heart goes out to them. We were hit hard in our area but mostly from wind damage and tree's down on power lines everywhere. Shout out to the lineman and rescue services out there working so hard and in dangerous conditions. You are hero's to many.

Damn....i couldn't even imagine. Seeing things like this should be a great reminder to stop complaining about the insignificant things in our lives. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. Prayers to all who are suffering 🙏🏾

I’m so sick of people saying “why didn’t they leave before it got this bad?” The roads were flooded and not drivable in a matter of minutes. None of these people could’ve imagined a simple flood warning would become this. I’ve seen videos of what looks and sounds like a damn river but the people are in their house!! Stranded! They were not told to evacuate until it was too late. I feel so badly for everyone affected by these floods. These people need help. Not ridicule. If you can, I would highly suggest donating to an organization that actually helps these people. Do 2 minutes of Google research to find one. Donate $10. It goes a long way if everyone does it. Again, these people do not need ridicule. They don’t live next door to an ocean like the people in Florida. They weren’t told to evacuate a week in advance.

My family and I lost our home that burned to the ground and lost everything back in 1996. Seeing this just broke my heart. I know the feeling but through fire. My prayers are with everyone that lost everything & loved ones. Blessings for a good recovery.❤️🙏❤️

This is the best of mankind! They're still checking on each other even before knowing if or how they'll survive. Proud to say our ancestors have been in NC since the 1600s and we are still dropping roots in the Tar Heel state!!! God bless those of us who have passed away and give those of us that are still here the strength and will to keep pushing while remaining humble ❤
