Kling 2.0 just dropped, and you know I had to dive right in to see if the reigning champ of AI video generation got even better. In this video, I'm putting Kling 2.0 through its paces, comparing it to the previous 1.6 model (which was already crushing it!) and seeing how it stacks up against the competition like Google's VEO 2. We'll look at text-to-video, image-to-video, new features, and find out what's still missing and what's coming next. Let's see if Kling keeps the crown! 👑

Chapters:

00:00 - Intro: Kling 2.0 Arrives!
00:41 - First Look: Fidelity & Coherence Boost
01:03 - Text-to-Video: Game of Thrones Direwolves (and Real Life!)
01:26 - Direwolf Results
01:59 - Text To Video Test 2
02:13 - Image-to-Video Quick Test (vs. VEO 2 Style)
02:59 - Overall Text To Video Impressions
03:15 - Text-to-Video: Strengths & Weaknesses (Cowboy Cosplay?!)
03:43 - Coherent Fast Motion: Kung Fu Fight Scenes!
04:41 - More Examples (Thanks Justin!): Punching Bags & Blizzards
05:19 - Running Test
05:50 - Generation Specs & Camera Control
06:09 - Lens and Camera Motion Callouts
07:14 - Image-to-Video Deep Dive (ft. Kolors 2.0)
07:50 - Sci-Fi Vibe Short
08:32 - Saucing Up the Footage
09:02 - Less Generations
09:22 - Impressive Walking Cycles
09:58 - Stylistic Retention with Image to Video
10:49 - AI Girlfriends and Crusty Pirates
11:45 - Final Frame Trick
12:26 - NEW Multi-Elements Feature
13:55 - Final Verdict: Still the King?

What I Cover:

Comparing Kling 2.0 vs 1.6 and Google VEO 2.
Testing Text-to-Video: Examples range from direwolves and stock footage to kung fu and slightly awkward cowboys.
Exploring Image-to-Video: Checking consistency, character animation, style adherence, and complex motion like walking and fighting.
Camera Control & Lens Simulation: Does asking for an "85mm lens" work?
New Multi-Elements Feature: A quick look at swapping elements between videos (using the 1.6 model for now!).
Creating a short sci-fi piece using Kling 2.0, Udio for music, and Topaz for upscaling.

What do YOU think of Kling 2.0? Is it still the best AI video generator out there, or are you using something else? Let me know down in the comments! 👇

Bumping this up to a pinned comment since there is a lot discussion about the desire for an Unlimited Plan on Kling. So for good old fashioned research purposes: let me know what you think is a fair price for an Unlimited Plan.
(Obviously, I can't promise or deliver on any of this, but I'm happy to point them here for sure genuine user feedback!)

They are charging 100 credits per generation at 720p without an unlimited plan. The creators that have been using Kling since forever, we have only asked for an UNLIMITED plan, and what they are doing is INCREASING the price to an unsustainable level for normal people. Runway will have worse quality right now, but it offers you the possibility to try until you have what you want, creating without limits and watching over the CREATOR. This is disappointing and disrespectful to those of us who in the past and present bet in Kling. There will be no future now until they change.

OK, spent 8 hours on it.
This is only image to video as the rest are gimmicks at this point.
1 Animation is MUCH better.
2 Characters don't change to Chinese
3 The pricing on 720 vids is robbery.
4 Image quality is pretty poor and using Topaz isn't great as the upscaling often changes key features like lips.
When they do 1080 it will be of use but right now it's a waiting game.

Thanks for the vid you do a good job Tim.

Been using Kling AI since the day it launched and just love how the platform keeps improving. I do agree though, the pricing structure could be better, especially since some output generations are not ideal or of good quality and that shouldn't result in wasted credits.

I love Kling, It has that "wow" factor that the others don't. Gen 4 is good... but has no wow. I just wish they had an unlimited plan, so I could really have fun with it.

Great video and content as always. So easy to sit and chill with you and ramble over the current stuff (which actually took ages to prep and get right) but feels very fireside. Great stuff.

200 credits for 10 seconds...I think I'll wait

They screwed up the ELEMENTS function in image-to-video. I was really easy to use but now they ask for an existing video first to add, delete or swap images in? I don't get it. And the 2.0 does not have it either....
I tried the image-to-video (no elements) and I thought it was really good in doing what you told it to in the prompt. But 100 credits per generation? That is nuts.

Thanks for mentioning the need for an unlimited plan. Frankly, I don't see how this technology is viable without such a plan. Have you looked at Kling's API's cost? They are crazy expensive.

Very impressive, especially what you did in a very short time. If that was a trailer I would definitely watch the movie! Costs are too high for casual users but commercial users could save time and money versus conventional shoots. Thanks for this. First video of the day as usual. ❤

If prices go like this in the future, we'll have to wait for the local generation model. Three times the price is too much.Kling was enticing with good quality at an affordable price, now you can think about choosing between some companies.
Thank you. Cool as always.

that stutter step is the one thing they need to sort out, it is actually that when you generate from an end frame the video out put from king changes the aspect ratio by 02 pixels

Wow, loved your 30-second sci-fi trailer - really great work!

Nice video! Any idea on how to write prompts on Kling to generate full body images of couple or single person in 16:9 ratio? I am currently struggling with full body images. No matter what I write in prompt, Kling mostly gives close-up images of people.

They need to understand their user base is social media creators and not some big media house. They need to keep monthly bills not more than $100. I hope they’re listening 👂

Tim, I gotta say:
You have quite the knack for making me become way more interested in things I have no business being interested in.
...simply because I don't understand it. 😊

Glad to see you're doing well.

Question for text to video, can we generate multi consistent characters in different scene?
