1-Application Formular
2-Signing and confirmation of information
3-2 Passport photos
4-Passport( not older than 10 years and not about to expire, plus 2 free pages for the visa).
5-ID CARD
6-Signed Au-pair contract
7-Registration certificate ( melde Bescheinigung) confirming the family has children under 18 years
8-Passport copies from the host family
9-Filled questionnaire from the government work agency( Bundesagentur für Arbeit) , by the host family.
10-Health insurance for all Schengen countries, for your entire time of stay.
11-Motivational letter( by you)
12-CV and copies of all past job references.(if you have any).
13-Birth certificate
14-All other certificates ( school, university, language, courses, etc)
15-German language certificate A1
16-Evidence of financial status( your Au-pair contract )
17-Invitation letter from the host family.

Those Over 27 Should Not Give Up They Could Try FSJ or BFD. Those who don't Have Agency Fees Can Look For A Family By Themselves sites like Aupair world have been successful and mostly the host does everything . But LANGUAGE LANGUAGE is Important Try and Aim For Even A B2 these days things are tighter you can still get with an A1 but try do more . And If One Does not have an Agent I recommend this video on things like motivation letter know basics about the town you are going to, basic things about Germany the embassy well atleast that in Nairobi can throw around questions. Once You Reach DE Focus think if you will volunteer do an FSJ Get into an ausbildung you can be anything you want but you need to be focused.
