Hey Clint, another good review!

So to review:
Full closed - For smooth hard packed dirt trails and pavement.
Middle - Great for aggressive pedaling on trails while still pretty stiff but opens up enough on roots and rocks. Great for extended climbing with obstacles to keep the rear wheel tracking and still reducing pedal bob.
Fully open 1 - Great for extended, rocky, rooty, high speed descents with larger obstacles. You don't expect to have to climb for a while
Fully open 2 - Good for lengthy descents with medium obstacles followed in quick succession by shorter climbs without having to quickly switch to Middle position. Balanced.
Fully open 3 - Good for descents with medium obstacles followed in quick succession by short, punchy, steeper climbs that require a decent pedaling platform to get up without having to quickly switch to Medium position.

In Fully open you would set it to which ever scenario you encounter the most on that trial. This way you only ever switch between Middle and Fully open so your hands stay on the handlebars when it matters.

What do you think of that assessment? Feel free to tailor to your experience!

Interesting video. I have an Ibis Mojo HD3 and I have ran the shock completely open the entire time. This could be the DW link but in the middle the big bump compliance just isn't the same.

Hello . Great Great video 👍 I have q question.. it will fit trek fuel 5 2022? As am looking for rear shock upgrade.. or what would you recommend for me ..

high speed compression. On bigger hits and or jumps, how does it behave in "trail" and locked position? Will it still allow full travel and will open high speed valves fully?

Hmmm wondering if I can upgrade my shock to this. I have the EVOL and can’t stand the fact I have to ride in firm to climb and my sag still drops to about 40% in climb mode and the specific psi fox is giving me. I’m almost capped out on the psi specs just to get it close to firm enough.

Do you have a video on the CTD. I have the same DPS but trying to set up the sag and the rebound a new CTD for a lady friend (as local shop that it was purchased not super helpful). This video was more helpful thus far with settings than i have found so far. Cheers.

3 position black lever only works in the trail mode

I saw one new for a good price. Seems like it MAY convince me better than the super deluxe? I love firm settings and having 3 pos switch on a shock too like on the deluxe RT3. Do you know if they're STILL custom pre-tuning these for specific bikes, or are non-OEM DPS shocks all the same? I want it for a carbon 29 stumpjumper expert.

hi i have a 2017 fox dps evol with black coating, the thing is it always bottoms out even when i go down stairs, i weigh about 80kg and have set the pressure to 230 psi. Is there something wrong with it or is it just not enough pressure :p

The Evol Volume or The X2 Air is actually way too soft and linear for me, I myself prefer the The DPS.

Great review, Clint. I have a 2014 Giant Trance SX with a CTD and I'm trying to decide between the DPS EVOL or the Float X. How do you like the EVOL on your Trance?

is that suited for a scott genius twin lock system? or what about fox float x?

Hi Clint, interesting review. I am considering upgrading my DPS to a DPX2. Is it a lot of difference for the price? I do AM mainly. Thanks

Hi Clint! When you ride your friend´s RKT 9 with the same shock, did you like it locked in the middle position? did you missed the open position? thanks

Hey Clint, you seem like a really savvy mountain biker, so I thought I'd ask you this question: I ride a specialized epic, with 100mm of travel front and rear. Do you think I should stick with that amount of suspension, were I to upgrade my fork? Increased travel would definitely alter the geometry, but generally speaking should I stick with the factor amount of suspension travel?

Does the evo is like the dps that feels a bit stiff.. my commencal meta am v3 doesnt lock even if you put it in lock position, i dont know if its the design of the frame that makes my meta v3 makes the suspension play or the shock it self, im thinking of changing it to dps or evo im just worried spending then it wont make any changes since ive read that the meta frame v3 makes the shocks moves even if its lock position. I dont know. 🤔

I have the same shock on my Anthem 27.5 Advanced, and it seems I can't turn the rebound dial any further than maybe 1 or 2 clicks. Afther that I can't even move it anymore. What do You think is a problem? Should I give it to my bike shop to fix it?
