In The Midst Of The Storm – Dr. Charles Stanley

When the weather gets rough, are your eyes on the wind and rain, or on the Lord?

We can learn a great deal from what happened to the disciples when Jesus commanded them to set out on the Sea of Galilee, and a terrible storm arose. As the wind and waves assailed their boat, they were frightened by conditions so far beyond their control.

Such moments, and such responses, happen to us all. That storm was surely a life-changing experience for the disciples, and ours can be for us, as well. In this message, Dr. Stanley shows us that while discouragement and even fear are natural reactions to stormy circumstances, we can move past those challenging emotions. We may feel helpless, but God is our steadfast Helper who intervenes powerfully in our circumstances in ways beyond what we imagine.

Thank you for all your teachings. I'm going through the valley of the shadow of death again. I lost my only sister to cancer on February 9th, 2017. She was a Pastor's wife. We prayed through but she died. My Dad died on March 31st, 2019 from medical malpractice. And on August 3, 2020 my beloved Mom passed away from natural causes. Both my parents were elderly. My sister was 54. I'm by myself now. Single and no children. The Lord knows how much I can bear. But please pray for me that I can keep my faith despite my circumstances.

Everyone in our nation needs to hear this. I was convicted listening to this message. I was off of work by our state governors executive order for 6 weeks. I had a lot of extra time and while I did use some of it for prayer and study, I could have done more. I'm back at work and business isn't the same. I'm 48 and have been in business for 28 years, but business isn't very good. I don't know what to do. I can go awhile yet, but I have a strong sense that the next few months will be it. I have extra time now and I want to use it better like Pastor Stanley says. Let's all pray for one another.
