I think a person who bought this cash doesn’t care about depreciation we also see this with cars🤦🏾‍♂️
Personally il buy a jet and charter it with pilot and staff and when it’s not being charted for cash il use it just to recoup some cash
Jet brings freedom you just can’t ignore

This video is completely misinformation.

I’ve been a corporate pilot for 25 years and am well aware of the actual cost.

I worked for one company who bought a brand new jet for $23 million and sold it 15 years later for $16 million.

Also, currently flying a Gulfstream 550 and the cost of operating is $4500 per hour. This includes EVERYTHING: fuel, maintenance, engine maintenance, crew pay, crew training, insurance. Etc etc.

This is part 91, meaning not charter. So training is once a year. And no, training doesn’t cost $50K or $30K. And no, if a pilot fails, he doesn’t start all over. They usually get 1 or 2 extra sim session. Cabin crew are not required to have training at all.

If you want to charter, a Gulfstream can cost you $15, 000 per hour. Why the huge difference? Well, the airplane needs to come to you first. And after it drops you off, it needs to reposition somewhere else to start another trip. So, if you charter from LAX to JFK, the airplane might need to come from Phoenix. And after you are dropped off, it might need to fly to Atlanta empty, for the next trip. Those empty flights cost money and need to be paid for.

You don’t have that if you own your own aircraft.

Also, I can’t remember the last time I paid $6 for a gallon. We basically been paying around $3 per gallon. But that doesn’t matter. The $4500 per hour includes the fuel.

This is like everything else, , everyone or every company thats involved has to each get their take. A company investigates a simple coffee maker but also sees that a modification that they want to add, and ONLY supply marks a huge price markup. Much like the crooked politicians of today, , everyone gets their hands in the cookie jar here and there too.
