Thanks for a great review. I have this headlamp and have found that my favorite feature is that it has such an even beam across my field of vision. This even beam makes it a great headlamp for doing work around the house or on my boat where I need extra light.

Pity it is a built-in battery that I do not believe can be replaced. I am kind of tired of makers using built-in's or custom replaceable batteries/packs. Personally rather than carry a power pack I carry a couple to several batteries of the same type (generally 18650) in plastic battery holders, on a trip, that I can use in my headlamp, flashlight, and/or lantern. It gives me a lot of flexibility as I am not draining down specific devices, just the individual batteries. Plus I am not a fan of sending otherwise working devices to the garbage because the built-in battery is dead.
Cheers for the review all the same.

10:00 I got excited until you said that the battery cannot be removed.
Engineer POV: Removable batteries should be _required, _ IMO.
Otherwise, when the rechargeable fades or fails (like when stored with full or empty battery), you have to throw out the entire light.
18650's are a top choice for energy density +1. Non-Removable: -1000.

Does your headlamp overheat and switch to mid or low mode when on 600 lumen? Mine if it has less than 50% of battery...tends to overheat and switch to lower illumination mode

G'day Mark, fully featured all right. I reckon the interface will be too complicated for many, but I find with these types of configurations, when you get some hours up you get used to them.
Yep weight is good, in direct comparison, my go to 18650 job, Fenix HM65R-T, weighs 142 g / 5 oz, including battery and strap, so that is a significant difference.
Proximity; perhaps going in with good intentions but not sure I'd cope with it, lol.
Nearly spat out my coffee when you mentioned non-replaceable battery, sure didn't see that one coming; though in hindsight the charging port location is a bit of a give away. Cheers Duke.

This product makes no sense, most 18650 users use these batteries ONLY use them because you can swap them out in the field.

I prefer the Fenix Trail Runner spot/flood running a 18650 rech C. 1500 lumens with both on. Adj. head strap. Lightweight aluminum alloy body.

Nice review. Question: does it remember the red mode? As for your link, it does not go directly to the light. I have a couple Nitecore NU25 360 headlamps which I really like. Very lightweight and compact. I also have a Nitecore powerbank which is very handy and compact.

The two cons, you mention: Unless they've done a better job than Olight, proximity sensor's a nuisance. Perun 2 turns off, in heavy rain or snow. No battery access =built in redundancy - not good.

hey Mr.Y, when you say the user cant really access the 18650, do you mean to say not at all, realistically even at home with a toolkit, or just that its not a simple in and out like with most AAs ?
