It's the way of the world....Republicans only complain about the national debt and federal spending when democrats are in charge. If republicans are in charge, they spend, spend, spend and never say a word about the national debt. Then, democrats come back into power and clean up the mess republicans have made. It's a never-ending cycle. I always love how rich people are so ready to CUT entitlement spending rather than figuring out a way to make those programs solvent.

Tax the rich. Raise the cap on social security wages. Add IRS agents to collect unpaid taxes from the wealthiest cheaters.

a draw?? what did Trump offer to make life better for me?

Making the super rich pay their fair share of taxes would pay for a stronger Social Security and Medicare. Rand cares more about the super rich than the middle class or poor. We could expand these programs and give them longevity if the richest were taxed fairly! P.S. Rand, Trump is no conservative. Trump is an extremist.

All economists agree Trumps proposal to enact tariffs is an awful idea and will raise the price of goods for Americans thereby amounting to a tax.

Clinton was the last president to have a balanced budget, 2000 & 2001. Bush immediately lowered taxes and increased spending. Bush ended by blowing up the economy in the financial crisis. Obama spent 8 years getting the country back on track. Trump lived in afterglow until he blew that up with his ineffective handling of the Covid pandemic.

He did not even try to answer the first (and simple) question posed by Walter Isaacson.

Talking to people like this is a complete waste of time.

so the underlying idea is to shift the age so that people will not live long enough to receive their social security....got it.

Someone should tell him that Social Security is NOT an entitlement we paid into that fund throughout our working years so is Medicare

We MUST KEEP Social Security! Raise the cap. I think full SS should be available at 64. I’m not a liberal. Elders shouldn’t have to work until they drop.

The big difference between Trump’s spending and President Biden’s spending is Trump gave the money to himself, his family, and the rich . On the other hand, President Biden gave money to the poor and the middle class. President Biden’s money policy during the Pandemic saved a lot of lives because he provided people money for food and housing; thus, he prevented or significantly reduced depression/suicides

Sen. Rand Paul cares about deficits? I’m deeply skeptical.

They are "Entitlements" to you Mr Paul, but for many, millions, is the only way to survive in this country when you reach an old age. Millions have worked years for companies and the only retirement and health insurance they get is throught the Government. He is advocating to reduce these vital programs for the sake of balancing the budget. Start with cutting military spending which is used for death, destruction and dominance.

I'm in Australia make. And we do all the things Harris is said to introduce. The idea that America, the richest country in the world, can't assist its citizens is BS. Maybe cutting you'll pay check is a starter.
