I am 60 years old and came across Jelly Roll on Pandora. Now I am a HUGE fan of both his music and the man he has become.
There have been a few stories in the entertainment media that the song choice for the Emmys In Memoriam was “weird and inappropriate”. Having lost both my parents and very recently a VERY close loved one I have to say the song was perfect. The feelings of not wanting to get out of bed, even the thought of not wanting to go on. But then you start having better moments thinking “I’m not OK but I know I’m gonna be alright”. Couldn’t have been a better song, especially for the loved ones of those who have died. Well done JR.
