Any of you remember Japie's red 3.0S, NN 40080 that ran in Newcastle in the nineties?? Many guys came from far to take on that car. It also pushed 301hp from a 3liter with the 3carb interceptor setup and stayed together for many years. Very distinctive howl during idling from the steel vernier timing gears. Those were the days!!!

In the 80's Buick were making 550+ from their v6's. In a decent lightweight drag application you could probably run high 8's

taking me bacK now to the had a Cortina GLS, S/W, Holley 4 barrel double pumper, 3.4, man oh oman, how i used to murder 333i's, 325IS, superboss, abf's, sti's, 2.8's, etc but this thing is a beast. then if you were running 14's! man you were quick. 13"s? dont f with that car, 12? get the f out of but this thing? na hats off to Brandon. i think he should get to a proper track, get those slips, it is running really well and you can see by how he takes off too. on a prepped track? i think he could go mid 10 's easily. go get it dude!!!! also love the V6, but would like to know about how reliable it is.

The trick here is the weight reduction....power to weight ratio makes the times fall ...but power is nice too

Growing up in a mining town in South Africa this was the car every school boy 👦wanted with blue racing strips and a straight exhaust. I saw one at tarlton raceway back in 2009 that did sub 11 don't know what was powering it all I remember XR6

It's the suspension setup that makes that car do its job too much engine focus by the admires. Handling is everything when putting power to the ground, no piont building a good engine when theres traction loss, not great for the 1/4 mile. Look how that car squats upon acceleration with minimal traction loss. Tire pressures are equally important.
