My reaction to hearing a beaver for the first time. They sound so cool! Have you ever heard a beaver before?

I was playing a really cool game called Lumpy's Animals that contains the sounds from over 200 creatures! I had no idea so many animals sound so unique. What animal sound would you like to hear next?

Anyway, I'm hungry for some glunch. Til' next time!

Senior wildlife biologist here. What you’re hearing is the mating call of the North American beaver (Castor canadensis). This particular male (sounds like a robust specimen) has built a dam and is calling out for a mate. Note the slapping sound: This is the beaver using its tail to create water vibrations! An interested female may sense this through the water, up to 2 miles away! Fascinating creatures.

At first, I thought this was fake, but after a quick google search, I now know that this is what beavers actually sound like.

Personally, I'm completely flabbergasted that so few people actually know that THIS is what beavers sound like.

I was expecting some dumb joke sound but I was pleasantly surprised that this video used an actual beaver mating call.

This was the most random fact I was obsessed with as a kid. I always wondered if that’s what pikmin noises were based off of

Those beaver sounds gave me a lot of nostalgia! I used to have on of these and they're so adorable! Thank you Lumpy!

The slapping sound is their tail, and the noise is the wonderful sound of them searching for a mate. Good beaver representation!

I work as a Zookeeper at the Detroit Zoo. I’m seeing a lot of people say this is fake. Believe it or not, this is actually what they sound like.

One time they temporarily moved some beavers in my city's zoo, and I didn't believe it when the guide said that they make sounds like these, but I never bothered to look into it. Guess I was wrong, keep up the good work man

ah, this is making the rounds online again. people went CRAZY over videos of beaver calls in the early 90s, i'm like 90% sure it's the reason Nickelodeon made Angry Beavers.

I was in a forest one time, i heard that sound coming from somewhere, i got really nervous, till, i saw a beaver doing that sound. My first impression was :"Huh, no, no, this is not the source of this sound" Till it started to do it again. Weird experience i've had there, but oh well, guess that's another information about beavers!

I visit my grandparent's farm every summer, and there's a beavear dam nearby. They sound even better in real life! Cute little creatures. I was really surprised when I learned that so few peoplr actually knew these animals can sing.
