Fun fact: Ali Pasha had contacts with agents of Napoleon and the two were close to brokering a deal in which Napoleon invades the Balkans and Ali Pasha converts to Christianity and declares himself the king of Albanians and Greeks and joins the fighting against the Ottomans. Of course the plan never came to fruition but just imagining that is fascinating.

This video is truly remarkable! Do you realize that here there is enough information to write a whole book? I am very impressed, and struck in awe. Really, what were your sources for this? I am under the impression that there isn't any historical work that recounts the exploits of Ali Pasa Tepelenli in such a great detail, even more for his military actions during his attempted separation from the Ottoman Empire.

I have a couple of questions about the video. For example, what do the striped lines and the crossed lines represent? Different levels of influence? I am a little confused, since in many different phases (especially in 1807) you have them overlap with other spheres of power. Did the Pashalik of Ioannina really reach as far south as the bounts of the Hegemony of Mani?
