Shawn and I recently purchased an organizer for plastic totes for our basement. After we finished assembling the piece we found a ton of these little plastic tubes. I knew that these would make a perfect organizer for the craft room! Craft with me as I assemble a colored pencil organizer!

That colored pencil organizer turned out really cool. I'd add a bottom to it so if you wanted to move it they won't fall through. Great video as always. Thanks for sharing with us!

I like it but I think it needs a bottom
As soon as you pick the piece up to move it all the pencils will fall out the bottom.

I do something similar! I take empty vegetable cans from that night's dinner and run them through the dishwasher, cut scrapbook paper to size, use a tape runner to stick it on, then cover it with clear contact paper from Dollar Tree 😊 They all match well since I use the same book of paper, haha.
I use them for colored pencils, pens, paint brushes, etc. I love them! Cheap and beautiful! 😍

Cute idea! Just a suggestion you could glue a piece of form board from the dollar tree to the bottom so if you needed to move it the pencils wouldn't fall out of the bottom, or if you move it and the pencils won't make any colored marks on your pretty white table. Hope you have a Great and Safe 4th of July!!

Very nice recycling and up cycling—love how this turned out! It’s a brilliant idea and could easily be done with any number of small cyclinders, like empty toilet paper rolls, cans, etc. And I like the others’ suggestions about adding a bottom piece to keep the contents inside. Thanks for sharing!

What a neat reuse project! I usually save paper towel and tissue cardboard rolls. I have friends that work with children in Vacation Bible School and almost always have a project and need them, but...evidently not this year, so I have a LOT. I could definitely see using tissue paper rolls and spray painting them white for an organizational project like this. Thanks for the idea! 😊👍🏻🇺🇸

Could probably use old 35mm plastic film canisters. My dad saved everything, so I'm sure I'll find some by the time I finish cleaning out my parents garage...😂

I am a person who loves to repurpose items into something useful and l did something similar to this with cardboard tubing that upholstery material was on...l cut the pieces to different heights and after wrapping them in decorative paper and burlap ribbon like attached to them to a board to hold my markers and colored pencils and gel pens etc.!

Vgood. I was thinking others can use Rx bottles for this project. Once washed and dry can be made to disguise that classic Amber bottle and bc they come in varied sizes can be used for variety of office things. Or bathroom /makeup . Nice idea and simple. 🤓 Oh and free😀💲

So cute! But I agree that I needs a bottom. I kept imagining you trying to move it after arranging your pencils.

You can cut a cereal box to fit the bottom.

I'm sure you have a thrifted tray that you could adhere to your organizer. I have seen longer tubes used to store knitting needles.

Cool looking but maybe take a piece of cardboard from a box (even a cereal box) and glue it as a button just in case someone decides to move it all the pencils dont end up all over the floor

I think that, if you really get into some project using all of your colored pencils, you will find that what you fabricated is really not practical. They should be taller so that the pencils stand more erect. And, because the "cells" have no bottoms, you are not going to be able to move it (relocate) without all the pencils falling out the bottom. Conceptually, a good idea, but needs more work.
