Hundreds of protesters in 20 UK cities mobilised to demonstrate against the rise in the cost of energy bills, food prices and taxes.

The People's Assembly aimed their message at the government over its policies to tackle the crisis -- and energy companies, who are reporting huge profits while bills are soaring.

Sky's Sadiya Chowdhury reports.

It's about time people took a stand. It's getting way out of hand. Things should not be this way, especially when we pay so much in taxes. Enough is enough!

Wages need to rise for the average person to be able to pay basic bills. The rich are still getting richer while people working 50+ hours a week doing manual labour etc are going to REALLY struggle! There could be a massive Labour callapse coming as people realise that working hard long hours is a complete waste of their time and is bad for their well-being.

*THERE IS NO COST OF LIVING CRISIS* there is a WAGE crisis.

Wages have remained either effectively static or literally static for 15 years. Subsidised by industrialised food and cheap plastic sh!t from China. But no longer can cheap food and cheap consumer goods mask the problem. This was all predicted 150 years ago in a book about capitalism. Its actually inevitable.

This is a sad reality that the middle income earners are surpressed by government across the world. Government reap the benefits that's y they don't care.

How can the economy possibly be back to pre pandemic levels? The economy was barely ticking over for years leading up to the pandemic. Then the pandemic hit and Boris has been giving billions to his mates.

This is why Boris is so interested in a war in Ukraine.
