Saying “I saved a life with CPR” and then “I don’t do CPR” is crazy

"You write down what happens. Seems like you could just get that on video" 😂

I used to be a CNA and the emergency team always HAD to have a recorder, which was a role that could switch between the different team members, so that the patients medical record had track of the care they received in the midst of the crisis, and could be referenced later to see what the patient had received in terms of meds, etc to avoid contraindications. they also are the link of communication in the team and have to accurately write everything down and shout over everyone to make sure they get the information while the team is doing their work, which is not easy to do. even though it may seem like "just typing" to outsiders, their job helps prevent miscommunications that can cost lives. Much appreciation to them and all essential workers! <3

Recorders are under-rated. They've got to keep track of everything no matter how hectic the situation is. Much appreciated

Old PCT/Nurse aide here ❤️ worked on a step down unit for a while and we had codes all the time. The person that was tasked with recording everything happening had to really be able to see and hear everything at once. Those tiny little hospital rooms filled up fast with every nurse, every doctor, every respiratory therapist etc. it’s controlled chaos somewhat but everyone is shouting orders and stuff is flying around the room like crazy. LOVED my nurses and so thankful for them! ❤️

"Does anyone have a pen and some paper! I gotta save this mans life!"

Yeah... This is what happens when the public isn't informed about what happens when you try to save their lives. Doing a code in the hospital isn't like what you see on TV... very orderly, eveything and everyone know their roles. It's chaotic and noisy. That's why they now have code teams in hospitals so it's more streamlined. Without this guy... Docs would be screaming who just did what, and who gave what meds... How much did someone just give?! This guy is important and is an important part of the team to save your life. I would never want to be him because he needs to hear and write down what everyone did... I don't envy his job. I rather be the someone doing CPR.

Love this guy working the crowd. I was a pediatric nurse who graduated in 1977. Children and adult codes are very different. More successful with kids. Did not have code teams way back. He is making me laugh!!!

The last code I was in I had to be the recorder. I’d never done it before, I’m usually pushing meds or doing compressions. Let me just say recording was much harder. The room was loud af so I could barely hear and had to yell over the chaos. The recorder tells everyone what to push next, when to stop for pulse checks, etc. They are the only person keeping a record of what is happening. I’d rather do compressions any day.

Matt, you are so damn funny, and so quick witted. My dream is to come see you live someday soon. I’ll be 62 in November and you’re my #1 bucket-list wish. 😊

I love that he found his audience 😍 I remember a couple months back when it started a lot of the sensitive peeps hated him but the ones with dark humor loved him and stood up for him ❤ ATP if you get offended at a Matt Rife show, you did it too yourself

For the non-nurses/ health care professionals out there… there is always one nurse or medical professional in the room “recording” and by that no, it’s not filming, it’s keeping track of the time, and recording on paper every intervention we have implemented followed by the time we implemented it so we can continue delivering life saving measures/ medications appropriately and at the right times to save a life effectively and also debrief after an even and see what we did right, wrong, or what we could have improved on… also for documentation purposes!

The flash on the camera is what did it for me 🤣 I might need CPR after how hard I laughed when that flash came on

A recorder is actually one of the most hectic job since you need to record everything that happened for charting purposes (when CPR done and how many times, check pulse, AED, epinephrine, IV fluid, etc) honestly chest compressing be the easiest to do since you got one thing and you can take a break
