This song was a lot of work but it really gets the blood pumping. Who would’ve known two Irish guys would ride such an awesome song about being a cow puncher in the rodeo. I think what Phil Lynott and Brian Downey see in the cowboy is this sense of a tough and grueling life that feels easier than what normal folks do because of the sense of freedom. Sounds a lot like touring, which I’m looking forward to doing someday. This song has plenty of ups and downs and really evokes the freedom in all of its different little sections and that easily recognizable main riff.
