Feeling tired or stressed?  You just may want to try labeling.  It can be a game changer!  It reminds your brain where things go, and makes it so you don't have to organize twice.  Have you tried labeling?  Would you give it a thumbs up or thumbs down?

Just to chime in: labeling can be as easy as masking tape and a sharpie!!! It doesn't have to be an investment into a label maker! Masking tape is surprisingly tough!

I couldn't agree more. Even in our utility closet in our hallway, which really needs to be redone, I have taken the time to label. Things like assorted tapes, electrical cords, batteries, flashlight, light bulbs etc. So my now hubby can source things whiteout my assistance. 😄🏖Kj in Tampa Bay 😊

I'm a hard core labeller. 😊 I labeled the shelves in my dishes cupboards so that folks who help unload the dishwasher put things in the right place.

I finally labeled the totes in my storage closet last month. As I put the last label on, I felt a huge spiritual shift, a release that left me feeling exhausted. Lol. I've known what's in each tote but finally broke down and bought the labels. I was blown away with that reaction. 😂😂😂 Although I've been in maintenance mode for years, I've never had that strong of a reaction at any other time in this journey. Ha! It felt like it was a "seal" that the "journey" was over and now I just keep maintaining. So happy to finally have one less "weight" off my shoulders.

I found that taking that extra moment or two to put something in its proper place rather than just put it down on the counter or whatever really helps me control the clutter in my house. I don’t use many labels because I try to put things away where I know they belong. Cas has helped me do so much in this regard!

I used to avoid labeling too… but better than helping locate schtuff: it helps me put it away RIGHT!!

It also cuts the “Remember Fatigue”. Even though we know where things go without labels, our brains can get fatigued by constantly having to use energy Remembering Again and Again “oh yeah the glue goes in here and the tape goes up there”. Labeling frees up that energy.

Started using labels (though I really had to force myself to do it) and my brain and kids brains love it!

I label the leftovers and food prep in the fridge, with the contents, date and day of the week. Easier to find things, easier to clean out the fridge. I store my food in plastic containers that lunch meat comes in. Easier to stack things when they are all the same shape.
