George Romney set his son, Mitt, with a stock portfolio for college.  And this happened before Reagan radically changed how income is distributed.  Yet, did the poor kid have the same opportunity as Mitt?  Of course not.  In order to achieve equal opportunity, we have to go beyond the liberal economy that existed before Reagan.  And I dare say, you cannot believe in hard work if you do not believe we should have the same starting line.
