First Run - Kyosho MP9e TKI - 1/8th Scale Buggy

Car was good but needs to rotate more off power on small tight tracks like this.

This is the first ever run with a brand new Kyosho Mp9e TKI! The car was probably perfect for a larger outdoor track. It seems very smooth and very easy to drive....almost to easy.....i think adding anti-squat or thinning the diffs to 4/5/2 from the 5/5/3 they are at may make the car turn in more off power.....

I may also try orange springs all the way around since the track I race at most often is a medium traction facility.

Nice Car, I'm just getting back into the hobby after 7 years. I ran a Mugen MBX5 nitro and
an torn between a MBX7eco or an MP9e TKI. Gonna try brushless as those technologies have come a long way in the last 7 years. I'm looking forward to the review

They are both you race outdoors on large tracks that can be a bit rough....MP9e!

If you race mainly indoor or on smooth high bite one is a great choice.

The new EB48.2 is a really nice finally included some parts that should have come with that kit in the first place....if they updated the motor mount I would consider that kit again.

Hi Nick,

You're probably right...but keep in mind I had a month to mess with set up and get the TEKNO dialed in....this was literally the first time the MP9e ever saw the

On these smaller tight indoor tracks the car definitely needs more off power rough tracks I feel that there is no comparison at all between the Kyosho and the the MP9 being the clear winner. Indoor they are pretty evenly matched :)

Fair enough...This is just my personal you can swing it I'd look into the new Losi 8ight 3.0 or the Kyosho MP9e are awesome buggies....super planted but both still have lots of steering.

If you wait for 10% off on Amain you can get the Mp9e for $683 and the losi for just over $600 or so....several friends who have eb48's actually like how aggressive the car is for indoor racing....but also feel its a bit out of its element in the rough! hope this helps.

i just feel like the car is a little to aggresive for me and and not very easy to drive on an rough outdoor track i also have alot of problems in the diffs and in the shocks. what im looking for in a car is good for rough outdoor tracks with alot of jumps and also very stable.

Or you can take the MP9 up a notch and upgrade to the Tekno chassis and you'll have the best of both worlds!!
