Aren’t dogs absolutely amazing. My dad used to tell me stories about dogs he knew and he used to tell me as a little girl that dogs will give up their life to protect you and believe me as the years went on I found that to be true. God gave us such a gift in horses and dogs. We are so lucky.

When we got our shepherd from a rescue my 2yo son waked up and yelled in her face and she just licked his nose. That’s when we knew. She loved playing with our boys and never once growled or snapped at them. Everyone else who came into the house was a different story. 😂😂

They can literally smell the DNA combination of both parents (which are his owners). This dog was especially fast at recognizing the newest family member with just two smells with him licking the baby and realizing that these are his parents "puppy" and his newest brother.
