I mean, I am not a member because I can't afford but if people go this route and support their fave, why not give them something more like an extra stream? That's what they are paying for kinda, so I don't get why people are so "upset" about it. There should be benefits for paid content.

to be a member, the membership barely cost anything compare to twitch
then again, member only stream doesn't sound that weird on YouTube, generally speaking the stream is like a watch along movie night or just trying to learn new language
a simple example would be from yukinoshita peo who did a watch along stream of home alone a week ago

Ye, bad part on shylily for trying to do typical youtuber's behavior to a twitch-centric audience.

But to be frank, Twitch only introduced paywalled streams once they saw Youtube having success with it's member-only streams. It's a feature that is anathema to Twitch's concentrated effort to force viewers to watch only the livestreams.

Tbh not really a fan memberships cause I see it as creators putting content behind a paywall, tho I do understand that YouTubes ads system is utter garbage
