2. choosing php as prog lang doesnt mean they have to choose MySQL
3. choosing DB in larg industries is matter of support, so choosig java az prog lang, its possible the company choose MSSQ< MySQL, Oracle, DB2 or any other DB, its not a right statement as the Java Devloper should learn Oracle, But ofcourse learning PL/SQL is so great.
4. during 12 years of my working experience in IT industry as software developer and network engineer; and 9 years as JEE developer and team lead, no one asked me about Oracle eventhough I have a strong knowlegde in MySQL and Oracle 11i.
please be vey careful on choosing the word and the statement which you are talking about it.
