In this 360th video in the new series on G.W.F. Hegel's great early work, the Phenomenology of Spirit, we continue our study of the final section of the work, "Absolute Knowing". I read and comment on paragraph 788 of the text here.

[more information to be added here in the near future]

In this video series, I will be working through the entire Phenomenology, paragraph by paragraph -- for each one, first reading the paragraph, and then commenting on what Hegel is doing, referencing, discussing, etc. in that paragraph.

This series is designed to provide an innovative digital resource that will assist students, lifelong learners, professionals, and even other philosophers in studying this classic work by Hegel for generations to come.

My videos are used by students, lifelong learners, other professors, and professionals to learn more about topics, texts, and thinkers in philosophy, religious studies, literature, social-political theory, critical thinking, and communications. These include college and university classes, British A-levels preparation, and Indian civil service (IAS) examination preparation

How incredible it is that you have arrived at the section on Absolute Knowing after all these years. Well done, Dr. Sadler: you are an inspiration.

I came here just to say that you're the one true king. Amazing work.

Thank you so much sir. I reached this section after many arduous months reading this great piece of work. A section with such density is hard for me to carry on my own. I always drew inspirations from your videos. Thank you again for such a great series of interpretations.

thanks again for this unrecompensed and Herculean effort. If you ever time, it would be very interesting to hear your own response to Hegel's critique of stoicism.

Nice. Although if one carries all this around and asks if one could effect percepts on a subject in and of its historical being, in all its multi-various aspects do we or could we arrange its idea as an anthropological matrix of consciousness and substance. Or something else to another end such as mimesis of form invested in production of academic discourse. I take more pleasure in the notion that Hegel is presenting a psychological lens for a very alienated and aloof scientific observer. Or if I could possibly read more into Dr. Sadlers words that dwelling on Reason as a community in and of itself forms a natural religion and from its spirit absolute knowing is possible. Its energy must come from the preceding parts as dynamic forces for absolute knowing to be substantially orchestrated above the commonplace thing of knowing a fact. I don't think I have heard Hegel use the term memory which is superceded by the phenomenology as a nest of dependences for an indwelling spirit. I form my own standpoint in that I become less perplexed at what Hegel posits as the real.

The difference between the Prologue's Sadler beard and Absolute Knowing's Sadler beard is larger than the before/after of any US president
