Celebrating one of the last true blues legends is the Epiphone B.B. King Lucille, a delectable semi-hollowbody based on the classic axe Mr. King dubbed “Lucille“ and played for decades until his passing in 2015. In this video, Sweetwater‘s Mitch Gallagher sits down with the newest edition of this timeless treasured instrument, boasting a punchy 5-ply layered maple body and top along with a maple neck and ebony fingerboard for incredibly smooth response and wonderful playability. An Epiphone LockTone Tune-o-matic bridge provides long-lasting sustain and tuning support to this stunner, with a pair of Alnico Classic Pro humbuckers to deliver that warm, vintage humbucker tone that translates beautifully to blues, jazz, and even rock.

Truly a work of art. I've had mine since Nov. 2010, and never, ever, play her. I open the case once in a while to admire and give her some air. Mr. King autographed her for me. I plunk away on my other guitars.

I read in a Rolling Stone article that BB never got the guitar out. He went back in for it but realised it was too dangerous and got out. In 2009, a guy bought a guitar from a Vegas pawn shop and did some research on it because it had "prototype" on the headstock (I believe he contacted Gibson) and it wasn't just a Lucille, it was THE Lucille. BB met the guy and swapped him a brand new 80th edition for his old one back.

Grabbed one used from Reverb for $500.00 which included an Epiphone Elitist case. I wanted one ever since I started playing guitar. I have to say that it's one of the best guitars I have. I buy and sell and trade often, but this is one guitar I will not part with. I play it daily. The tones you can dial in is its greatest attraction to me. If your thinking of getting one, do it.

Recently bought one but made a few minor tweaks or improvements I changed to a bone nut I didn't like the graph-tech and switched out those bland black knobs to a more cosmetically matching black and gold. The feel is very solid and I have no complaints on the tones. It's a wonderful guitar with a stunning black finish.

I never understood why BB needed an ES without f-holes until I saw him play live. Loudest show I’ve ever been to. Yes, louder than Metallica or any metal band out there.

With the non f hole style I'd love to give it a go with some gain. Always have been a fan semi hollows in high gain settings.

I’d be unworthy to even look at Lucille let alone play her. But then again, I’m a drummer.
