Long live the King Aegon II from House Targaryen, King of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, and Protector of the Realm

The music. The slow-mo. The voiceover. Jesus Christ this was done beautifully and to perfection.

The scene is strangely moving. Aegon is portrayed as a lazy, depraved young man and yet he finds some form of dignity, thanks to Alicent's love for him. Otto's voice and the sublime Hightower's theme are no strangers to this...

Everyone keeps rightfully discussing Tom Glynn-Carney's acting, but Rhys Ifan's performance doesn't get the recognition it deserves. He's been great throughout the entire season, and this scene, most notably around 0:27, is just another example. In this small clip, without exchanging any words, he perfectly conveys the pride and satisfaction of installing his grandson on the Iron Throne through his facial expressions. The way he surveys the crowd to take in the atmosphere. How he allows a small smirk to form on his face. Small details like that really elevate the scene, reinforcing how this is the coronation he has been working towards for 20 years. I hope he at least receives an Emmy nomination because it would be criminal otherwise.

I think it was ridiculous that reyhnrs broke the walls with the dragon and ruined the ceremony, whatever it was, it was a special scene and it should have ended like that, not to mention that he found and put on armor in a very short time.
