I’ve always thought that giraffes are so weird that they don’t even seem like something that would exist. Like, if I didn’t know any better I’d probably think that unicorns sound more plausible as an animal that’d actually exist just because giraffes are so freaking weird. But I’m so thankful that they actually exist, because giraffes are AWESOME!

Moose are ridiculous megafauna that can swim well enough to disturb me, looking at how horses evolved is fucking wild, lungfish are grotesque but I respect the survive out of spite mentality, jaguars can pierce the skull of a caiman which is insane, the strength of a tigers forelimbs is straight up disrespectful, the list goes on there’s so many that can do really cool shit actually

It’s true. It’s so sad that we take these animals for granted today because then we don’t care about them enough to save them until someone finally moves us to. I’m worried elephants may go extinct within our lifetimes.

After cats, probably my favorite animals are octopi. More specifically BLANKET OCTOPUS. Seriously people, look it up! Beautiful creatures! 😍

There's even really cool animals that we THOUGHT were extinct only to find them later. There's a show about it now too. The guy that does the show is a relative of the guy who rediscovered the coelacanth.
