In build 2 and 3, there was one block of coarse dirt in with the normal dirt in the bottom of the pond. In build 1, there was 2 blocks of coarse dirt side by side.

Adventure maps can have resource pack applied to the map itself, giving you textures you don't have to do anything extra to enable. With that being said, be thankful the creator of this map didn't give gold blocks a very subtle animation causing you to question everything you know.

Can somebody go inform the map maker that it's possible to make gold blocks have a very subtle animation causing Jordan to question everything he knows? >:)

For the first build, there was likely a single block that was in a river biome, not the entire build.

Chests and iron bars also have connected textures whereas droppers don’t. That’s what I thought.

You could just check the gold thing by doing some datamining. It's 100% *NOT* animated.
