TERMINATOR: Dark Fate - What is Legion? (Explained)

Hey guys and welcome to my first video. Today I’m going to talk about Legion. The artificial intelligence that caused Judgement Day in the Terminator Dark Fate movie. Legion was mentioned several times in the movie, but it wasn't actually explained what it really is. In this video I want to explain it in more detail. What is Legion? Who created it? What was its intention? And what happened in the past, which led to the events of the Dark Fate Timeline?

Legion is when you run out of ideas for a new Terminator and you are creatively inert.

Going by the motifs of the Terminator movies, Legion would’ve been reverse-engineered from the Rev-9’s constant hacking of data centers and government surveillance systems while it was hunting Dani. (Likewise, Grace’s cybernetic enhancements were developed from the x-rays they took of her in the CBP detention facility.)

This was how the predestination cycle began anew — and which Dani wants to change at the end of the movie, just like Sarah did before.

did Skynet really had a central core? Asking because i remember at the end of T3 Skynet was described operating rather quite like Legion.
also, Legion was rather mostly using Rev-7s which unlike Rev-9s were good only on the battlefields

Legion is just a modified form of skynet. How it came to power is that once skynet was defeted legion saw its time and strike since they both were enemies. Watch the series it makes so much sence

Legion is another version of Skynet from a really messed up alternative timeline where people, somehow, built aircraft that had legs to land when standard VTOLs would have been far easier to develop, build, and deploy.

There is no avoiding Judgement Day. Even if Skynet is destroyed, a Legion will arise. Even if John Connor was killed, a Dani Ramos would rise. Its a never ending loop to try fixing it by time travel.

Great first video! I never saw the dark fate movie bc I heard it was bad and didn’t want to waste my time. ( T1-T2 ❤❤❤) but I did get the terminator dark fate RTS and love playing as “Legion” so it’s nice to know WTF happened to skynet and what Legion is. Thankyou!!!

EMP effects are actually caused by the interaction of massive gamma radiation pulses and air molecules.

Both Terminator 3 and Dark Fate feature hostile AI that disperse into the existing human infrastructure rather than existing as a centralized program running in a single location or network. Skynet 3 was using pretty much every system it could get access to, and it had access to nearly everything as a cyberwar system. If Legion did the same, its strategies made no sense. Cutting power to cities shuts down all of those marginally useful home PCs that it can co-opt to do work for it when they're not being used to the point that work would be noticed. Disabling communication networks will lead to outages for Legion as human operators attempt to fix the problem, first by rebooting the hardware, then by pulling it off the network for diagnostic evaluation. In both movies, nuking cities might kill humans, but it's the equivalent of killing mice in your walls by clenching a grenade in your fist when detonating it.

The worse thing about legion its development makes no sense for example with skynet
T1 the t-800 is its pinochle of development before loosing as it had no previous models to go off of
T2 skynet is upgraded using the technology it develops in the future with the t-800s design probably on board allowing for more advanced models and processing power leading to the t-1000
T3 the military gets a hold of what’s left of skynet after the Connor’s attempt to prevent it and with the military’s near endless money is developing faster but with a more military efficiency mind to it which allows it to kill John in the future and make other models but still having the t-800 being its most advanced

Dark fate legion appears out of nowhere takes ages to start to kill humanity get a large amount of its tech stolen from it and somehow makes a t-x that can separate and somehow operates worse than any other model even the t-600
