About Ms. Villeneuve
Ms. Judy Villeneuve is a champion for the 1.1 million NYC public
school students she works for at the NYC Department of
Education. She is currently serving as Director of Policy and
Engagement in the Office of the Chief Academic Officer.
Ms. Villeneuve previously served as Director of Compliance
Services within the Office of the General Council where she led a
team to ensure 1,600 public schools met Federal, State
requirements and Chancellor priorities to protect the most
vulnerable student populations in temporary housing,
multilingual learners, and students with disabilities.
She has also served as Director of Operational Policy and
Research to the Deputy Chancellor of Operations where she led
the citywide implementation of the Mayoral school food
program, Breakfast in the Classroom to combat hunger among
low-income students and increase their learning outcomes.
Ms. Villeneuve was awarded her B.A. in Communications from
New York University and her M.A. in International Affairs
Governance, Rights and Statistics from the Milano School of
Policy, Management and Environment, within the School of Public
Engagement at The New School. She also earned the Leading for
Excellence and Equity certificate from Harvard Graduate School of
Education.
