As much as I like stock android I have to say that for the money I would pick the Note 4. The reasons are micro sd card slot, removable battery, SPen, Touchwiz extra features which can come in handy when needed, etc... The Nexus 6 looks nice, but for stock android I wouldn't pick such a large device. IMO stock android is more for simple users who don't want that many features. Larger screens are meant to be taken advantage of and the Note 4 is the best for that.

I think the Nexus 6 being a little pinkish redish at the lowest brightness may be on purpose. Blue lights are not good for you when you are going to sleep. So MAYBE it was done to reduce the effects of harmful blue light. Effectively leaving no need for apps like twilight.

i think they messed up with the nexus 6. IMO, they should have continued the trend of the nexus 5, but jack up the resolution to 10 mp and give it a better sensor. and kept the screen 5 inches with an improved 1080p screen or maybe somewhere between 1080 and 2k and equally important, keep the price DOWN. the screen is too big for 9/10 people to comfortably use, and as was covered in the video, you can't really do anything with the huge screen like you can on the Note 4.

excellent comparison review! Note 4 has so many features to offer but the Lollipop OS is on the Nexus is buttery smooth.

I believe that the choice is totally down to the user - any negative points can be dismissed - for example, I have a Nexus 6, prefer the speediness of stock google, and don't want touchwiz or all the features like split screen. I see it as gimmicky and like viewing Internet pages in full, or more content on messages. Hence for me, big screen advancements don't apply, and neither does added functionality of the s pen which I see no need for - all I want is blazing fast Internet and a good media experience and the nexus 6 provides this. Similarly the pink screen tint - I never have my screen below full brightness so how is this a negative point in my case? Conclusion? Nexus 6 hands down. People may disagree, in that case get the Note 4. Don't really get why everyone feels the need to argue over this, as long as it's some form of android and not IOS.

I still have my Note 3 and I love the experience. I've had it for about 7 to 8 months the longest I've ever had a phone before switching to something else.
I had a chance to check out the Nx6 nice phone but nowhere as usable to "me" and my Note is.

I am a Samsung fan, but am trying the Nexus 6 now. As such, I find it hard to put much faith in this review. Both phones have active noise cancelation, though the video only mentions it for the Note 4. Both phones do 16:9, though the video says the Nexus 6 does 4:3...the truth is it does 4:3 AND 16:9...your choice.

I also am not going to cry about not having features that I only "use once a year" per the video. There are apps for everything that the Nexus 6 doesn't do out of the box. I also have large hands, so the extra width is no issue for me. The Nexus brand, and more frequent updates, are key points to me personally. Oh, and the interaction with my blue tooth in car system for hands free works MUCH, MUCH better with the Nexus 6 than it did my previous Samsung phone.

I do give you that I hate no removable storage or battery. I think phone compatibility comes down to personal preference.

Great comparison. Michael's videos are my favorite tech reviews online.

I'm a nexus fanboy. I had note 4 and nexus 6 both for about a week, returned nexus 6 very easily and don't regret it a bit. I recently bought a gear vr and you can't get that experience anywhere else!! Note 4 + gear vr is the best vr experience you'll ever had. Google cardboard doesn't even come slightest bit close to it. Well being a geek I'd have loved stock android experience with spen functionality in note 4, however, I love my note 4 the way it is!!!

There is a fully functional custom cm12 for it right now as well. Lollipop for enthusiasts is already available for note 4. Hop over to XDA to for nd more info.

No mention of Nexus 6 outperforming Note four on nearly every performance benchmark test.

No mention of turbo charging with stock Motorola turbo charger.

No mention of ergonomic design that makes nexus feel better in your hand.

You are by far the best reviewer. That MKBHD's reviews are whimsical. I would want you to make a little longer videos with more details. TY

I'm ready to sacrifice the Note 4's better camera, hardware and extra features for the nexus 6. I love the clean minimal front screen design of the Nexus 6. Plus, touchwiz is the slowest modified Android software out there. Well, maybe I'm just a Samsung hater. Note 4 is clearly the better phone.

Samsung can put whatever they want under the hood, but the lagwiz will always keep me away from it.

Your example of auto focus literally had the nexus 6 pointed at the ground, and then immediately get a person in the walk into frame to focus on first, while the note 4 started directly on the bear... nicely balanced examples guys.
